The Easley HomeSchool Guardians will head out on the road to challenge the Cambridge Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Easley HomeSchool ended up a good deal behind New Covenant School and lost 51-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Easley HomeSchool in their matchups with New Covenant School: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Academy struggled with assists on Tuesday (Curtis Baptist had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Cambridge Academy took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Curtis Baptist.
Despite the defeat, Cambridge Academy got a solid performance out of Jillian Mapes, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Cockrell, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Easley HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cambridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
