The Scott Skyhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 68-48 defeat at the hands of Chapmanville Regional. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Scott of the 82-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Scott's loss came despite strong showings from Kelsey Harper and Haven Tomblin. Harper dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Tomblin scored 14 points. That was a full 39.6% of Scott's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Scott has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Chapmanville Regional, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will challenge Winfield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Winfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Wednesday. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Wyoming East at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chapmanville Regional has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
