Independent is 10-0 against Belle Plaine since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Independent Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Belle Plaine Dragons. Independent is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Independent gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Garden Plain 57-18 at home. Given Independent's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Garden Plain is ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Belle Plaine, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-40 loss to Conway Springs on Friday. Belle Plaine has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Independent pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Belle Plaine, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
