In other batting news, McGavock got a massive performance out of Addyson Brown, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailyn Ekberg, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
McGavock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .553. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pearl-Cohn started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Whites Creek. They lost 28-16 to the Cobras on Friday. While the Firebirds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cobras 8-0 in the first period.
McGavock's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pearl-Cohn, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
