The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jefferson, who took down 265th ranked Belvidere North, 43-26.
Boylan extended the longest winning streak in Northern Illinois this week by beating Belvidere, 57-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Titans.
Jacob Benson and Jack McCluskey gave East a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Benson threw for 102 yards and one touchdown, while McCluskey ran for 83 yards. Kavy Vongsauvanh also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.
Contrell Curry was the best wideout in the league this week as Auburn beat the E-Rabs. Curry tallied one reception for 50 yards. Keiven Russey helped Auburn's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
East's Benson and Austin Young have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Benson has thrown for 1769 yards this season, while Young, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 39 catches for 977 yards. Harlem's Kevin Witcik leads the league in rushing yards with 920.
Jeremy Warren's team's Young is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 23 receiving yards against Hononegah to hit that benchmark.
The Huskies' Witcik is a mere 80 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in Northern Illinois this week will be when the Knights take on Boylan. Auburn is in fourth place, while John Cacciatore's team is in first place.
The J-Hawks moved up to 331 from 381 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jefferson climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Blue Thunder 43-26.
