The Salisbury Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the East Davidson Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salisbury is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
Salisbury took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Lexington as they made off with a 16-1 win. Considering the Hornets have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashley Yang made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Yang was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dasmine Ambers was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Tatiana McQueen also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Salisbury hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, East Davidson waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Hawks.
ALYSSA STALEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenzi Cribb, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Natalie Holt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Salisbury is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for East Davidson, their record is now 10-6.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Salisbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like East Davidson struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Salisbury might still be hurting after the 22-11 defeat they got from East Davidson in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
