Softball Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Vale/Dexter rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Bluestem Lions.

Zoe Davidson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Gracie Webb was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Cedar Vale/Dexter's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Bluestem, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Cedar Vale/Dexter nor Bluestem have any future games scheduled.
