Living Word Lutheran has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Kenosha Christian Life Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Living Word Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Even though Living Word Lutheran has not done well against Lake Country Lutheran recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Living Word Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Country Lutheran and snuck past 47-45.
Living Word Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delaney Winkelmann, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Izzy Balsewicz, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kenosha Christian Life entered their tilt with Faith Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Kenosha Christian Life came out on top against Faith Christian by a score of 72-59 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Living Word Lutheran pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Living Word Lutheran strolled past Kenosha Christian Life in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 59-43. Will Living Word Lutheran repeat their success, or does Kenosha Christian Life have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
