Heritage hasn't had much luck against Bayside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Heritage has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Viera hit Heritage with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-2.
Heritage saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloey Dieter, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bayside). They never let Palm Bay get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
NICOLE GARCIA made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, BRIANNA DABBS was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was REESE MONTGOMERY, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.
Bayside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .692. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Bayside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .508. However, it's not like Bayside struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Bayside when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
