Concord has gone a perfect 6-0 against Mt. Diablo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. Concord is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Concord is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Miramonte on Monday. They fell just short of the Matadors by a score of 2-1.

Aislynn Newlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Concord saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shay Caban, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Caban is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
Campolindo hit Mt. Diablo with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Mt. Diablo got a massive performance out of Dazzelynn Alon, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Ashley Cornejo was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Concord's record is now 6-13. As for Mt. Diablo, their record now sits at 4-18.
Mt. Diablo's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Concord has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mt. Diablo, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Concord keep running through batters, or will the Red Devils buck the trend?
Everything went Concord's way against Mt. Diablo in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Concord made off with a 17-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
