If The Odyssey Institute Minotaur were feeling good off their 42-6 takedown of the Kofa Kings last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Odyssey Institute was beaten by Paradise Honors 57-23 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Odyssey Institute can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Paradise Honors is ranked 49th).
Gage Baker went supernova for Paradise Honors, throwing for 430 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Baker is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Thomas, who picked up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Odyssey Institute's defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 4-4. Paradise Honors is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odyssey Institute will take on River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. The Panthers will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th. The timing isn't great for they: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Paradise Honors has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
