After flying high against the Central Christian Academy Chargers two weeks ago, the Eminence Eels came back down to earth. Eminence took a serious blow against Riverside on Wednesday, falling 76-43. Eminence was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.
Gerald Pope was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Riverside. The team also got some help courtesy of Ousmane Diarra, who scored 14 points.
Eminence's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Eels will face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors are on a three-game streak of home losses, the Eels a 16-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Riverside will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Victory College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
