The Boulder Creek Jaguars will challenge the Eastmark Firebirds at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Boulder Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Corona del Sol, who was ranked 15th at the time (Boulder Creek was ranked 19th). Boulder Creek put the hurt on Corona del Sol with a sharp 10-4 win on Tuesday. Considering the Jaguars have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Avery Gurr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Kerr and McKayla Chapman did most of the damage at the plate: Kerr got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Chapman scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Kerr has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilly Shull, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Boulder Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Eastmark made easy work of Estrella Foothills last Tuesday and carried off a 21-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.
Andrea Fletcher made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fletcher was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Bella Gomez was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Tristan Raso was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
The win was the fourth in a row for Boulder Creek, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Eastmark, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
