Elk Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Jesuit Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Elk Grove's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Elk Grove ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Cosumnes Oaks 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Elk Grove has posted since December 22, 2023.
It was another big night for Vinny Gonzales, who scored 16 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Liam Acido was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jesuit had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 51-43. 51 seems to be a good number for Jesuit as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Elk Grove's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Jesuit, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
Elk Grove suffered a grim 69-47 defeat to the Marauders in their previous meeting back in January. Can Elk Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
