Softball Recap: White Hall Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

White Hall had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Des Arc on Saturday. White Hall's pitcher stepped up to hand Des Arc an 8-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Taylor Irvin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maycey Langston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win (which was White Hall's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Des Arc, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

White Hall has already played their next contest, an 8-5 win against Quitman on the 22nd. As for Des Arc, they will square off against Hernando at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
