Delta is 0-10 against North Sanpete since May of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Rabbits will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 3:00 p.m.
Delta is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Juab, falling 10-4.
Jaylie Taylor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Joslyn Christiansen, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, North Sanpete made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hunter on Wednesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Hawks have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Shea Rawlinson was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alivia Madsen and Mylee Cook did most of the damage at the plate: Madsen scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Cook scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5. Cook has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Rylee Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
North Sanpete kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
North Sanpete's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Delta might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from North Sanpete when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Rabbits have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
