Junction City had a senior duo take command as Deontae James scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals and Montra Hankton scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hankton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pechone Larry, who scored eight points.
Junction City's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Fordyce, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will take on Gurdon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gurdon is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Fordyce, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Parkers Chapel at 7:00 p.m.
