Rockville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Quince Orchard Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Rockville is ranked 184th, while Quince Orchard is ranked 173rd).
Rockville was handed a 29-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Poolesville on Friday. Rockville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 win over Poolesville. The win was just what Rockville needed coming off of a 71-42 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Quince Orchard scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Northwest on the road to the tune of 60-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Quince Orchard has posted yet this season.
Quince Orchard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evelyn Steele out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Steele hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Bridget Vandegrift was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Rockville's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Quince Orchard's record now sits at 5-6.
Rockville was taken down by Quince Orchard 62-19 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Rockville, Natalie Hunt (who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
