The South Dade Buccaneers are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Miami Stingarees on February 6th. South Dade pushed their score all the way to 57 last Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Braddock.
Meanwhile, Miami scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 79-47 win over Miami Beach at home. Miami has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Miami's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Absalon Cortes, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Cortes hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Romari Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
South Dade has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Miami, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
South Dade was dealt a bruising 60-30 defeat at the hands of the Stingarees in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Now that South Dade knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
