Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends London's Winning Streak

It was fun while it lasted, but London's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Monday. They took a 58-40 bruising from the Hamilton Township Rangers. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Rangers are ranked 27th).

It was another big night for Jovon McBride, who went 16 of 27 en route to 40 points and seven rebounds for Hamilton Township. McBride's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lucas King, who posted eight points in addition to 15 boards and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, London fell to 4-1. As for Hamilton Township, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. London will head out to challenge Miami Trace at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Miami Trace will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something London surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hamilton Township, they will venture away from home to square off against Bexley at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
