The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as Dyersburg took home a 10-4 victory over Ripley on May 4, 2012.
Ripley is now in first place at 3-0 in AA District 13 and 6-7 overall.
The league's longest active winning streak belongs to
Covington (25-9, 6-2), undefeated over its last seven games. Four of those wins came in the past week, includinga 3-2 victory over Haywood and a 14-4 win over Gibson County.
Gibson County's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and five walks to lead the league in both categories. The Pioneers's pitchers have been charged with only 164 hits and have struck out 104 batters.
Axel Metzger is tops on the staff with 35 Ks.
Zach Wiginton led the league with six hits this week for Gibson County. He is seventh in the league with 27 hits this year, and has a .365 batting average.
