The West Lafayette Red Devils will take on the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Lafayette is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
West Lafayette took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Frontier. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Bree Johnson was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Paola Eifler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Lafayette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lafayette Jefferson, falling 17-3.
Corinne Zehring was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Lafayette Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Lafayette, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-5.
Lafayette Central Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. West Lafayette has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lafayette Central Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will West Lafayette keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
West Lafayette took their victory against Lafayette Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
