The Manteo Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Camden County Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manteo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Manteo fell victim to Hertford County's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, Manteo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Hertford County is ranked 101st).
Meanwhile, Camden County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Holmes on the road and fell 47-14. Camden County was down 47-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Although Camden County took the loss, they still got scores from Zion Banks and Diego Carrion.
Manteo's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.2 points per game. As for Camden County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Manteo was taken down by Camden County 41-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Manteo, Jayce Mcfadden (who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
