Superior is 0-3 against Joseph City since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Superior Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Joseph City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Superior will be strutting in after a win while Joseph City will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Superior had just enough and edged Ray out 52-50. The victory was all the more spectacular given Superior's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Ray is ranked 159th).
Joseph City has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-39 walloping at the hands of Veritas Prep on Tuesday.
The win makes it two in a row for Superior and bumps their season record up to 2-5. As for Joseph City, they bumped their record down to 12-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Superior might still be hurting after the 72-49 loss they got from Joseph City in their previous meeting back in January.
