The Two Rivers Warriors entered their tilt with the North Branch Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Two Rivers came out on top against North Branch by a score of 66-55 on Monday. Given Two Rivers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while North Branch is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabi Kirchner was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Amundson, who scored 18 points.
Two Rivers' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for North Branch, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Two Rivers will square off against Highland Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Branch is on the road again on Friday and play against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 7:15 p.m. on December 8th.
