Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Houston turned things around against Schaeffer Academy on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 19-2. The Hurricanes not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024 (when they won 31-2).

Archer Semling and Dawson Pedretti made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Semling tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Pedretti tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Semling got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Pedretti got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Houston got a massive performance out of Morgan Rohweder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Rohweder has posted since back in May of 2024. Coltin Groth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Houston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Spring Grove duked it out with Mabel-Canton on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Houston, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
