Wayne has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Wayne Pioneers and the WestSide Renegades will round out the year against one another at 7:40 p.m. on Friday at. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Wayne came up short against Buffalo and fell 67-56.
Despite the loss, Wayne got a solid performance out of Isaac Meddings, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Meddings' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Adkins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for WestSide in a 67-50 win over Mingo Central on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for WestSide.
WestSide's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Bishop, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bishop has scored at least 25% of WestSide's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coltin Lester, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Wayne's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for WestSide, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
