The Mount Pleasant Tigers will be playing at home against the Union Academy Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Mount Pleasant pushed their score all the way to 74 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of North Stanly by a score of 77-74. Mount Pleasant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Union Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Stanly. While losing is never fun, Union Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while South Stanly is ranked 251st).
Mount Pleasant has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
Mount Pleasant didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Union Academy in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 71-67 win.
