North Sanpete is 1-9 against Emery since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 3:00 p.m. Emery took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Sanpete, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, North Sanpete got the win against Delta by a conclusive 8-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Hudson Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because North Sanpete is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise. Smith was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, North Sanpete got a big performance out of Tyson Guidos, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aaron Costello, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
North Sanpete was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Emery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Carbon.
Beau Stilson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Emery's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for North Sanpete, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
