Trent Holst was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Mellen, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Sawyer-Brown, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Oxford Hills narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fryeburg 3-2. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Carter Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Cam Pulkkinen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Colton Jendrick was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Leavitt's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Oxford Hills, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
