The Norwich Eagles lost against the Cunningham Wildcats two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Norwich fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 55-52. Norwich has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Will Wegerer and Luke Albers. Wegerer dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Albers scored 28 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wegerer has scored at least a third of Cunningham's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Sterneker, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Norwich has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Cunningham, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Norwich will head out on the road to square off against the Chieftains on Monday. South Barber and the Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Cunningham, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
