Bethel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Kecoughtan with a sharp 10-3 win. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Ryder Zeman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaycob Miller, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yucaree Felton, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bethel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kecoughtan only posted an OBP of .161.
Meanwhile, Granby entered their tilt with Nansemond River on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 4-0 shutout.
Bethel's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Granby, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bethel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Granby struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bethel got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Granby by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
