Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Middlesex

Middlesex had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Mathews Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Middlesex got a big performance out of Carly Jessie, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Jessie has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Libby Oliver, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Middlesex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Middlesex's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Mathews, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middlesex will take on West Point at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mathews, they will face off against King William at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
