Forest is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Gainesville is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Forest will welcome Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Forest duked it out with Dunnellon on Tuesday. Forest blew past Dunnellon 16-1. Considering the Wildcats have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Reagan Quinn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Quinn was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Forest got a massive performance out of Jaiden Prestipino, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Prestipino is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Naomi Meyer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gainesville). They put the hurt on Buchholz with a sharp 11-2 win two weeks ago. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Hurricanes with their most commanding win of the season.
McKenna O'Sullivan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. O'Sullivan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Madisyn Gillins was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Braylin Cook, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Forest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. The win got Gainesville back to even at 5-5.
Forest's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Gainesville, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Forest continue to outrun the ball?
Forest couldn't quite finish off Gainesville in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 3-1. Will Forest have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
