It was a proper cat-fight when Honaker duked it out with Northwood on Thursday. The Tigers never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, George Wythe hadn't done well against Galax recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Maroons put the hurt on the Maroon Tide with a sharp 10-4 win. The Maroons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024 (when they won 16-6).
Carson Stanley made a big impact no matter where he played. Everything went Honaker's way against George Wythe when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Honaker made off with a 23-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
