South Carroll extended the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Chesapeake this week by beating Francis Scott Key, 52-13. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Manchester Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,941 from 8,502. The improvement was the result of a 40-31 victory over Liberty last week.
Westminster's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Duke Etchinson threw for 142 and 5 touchdowns and Ryan Hursey had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Brian Kohr contributed 87 yards. Patrick Fitzgerald helped Westminster's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 24 yards.
Austin Edwards made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Owls bested North Carroll. The 5-foot-10 senior racked up 1 sack.
He was 15-20 with 0 interceptions.
Etchinson put up the best numbers through the air as Westminster defeated the Panthers. Etchinson's favorite target this week was Hursey, who caught 5 passes for 71 yards.
Westminster's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Owls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Etchinson has thrown for 2,265 yards and 26 touchdowns this season, while Hursey has 64 catches for 797 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place South Carroll takes on second place North Carroll.
South Carroll led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on the Eagles.
