The Sarasota Sailors will take on the Port Charlotte Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sarasota took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on North Port with a sharp 8-2 victory.

Cesar Garmendia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mark Metcalf, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Parker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Port Charlotte made sure to put some runs up on the board against Riverview Sarasota on Friday. Port Charlotte blew past Riverview Sarasota 11-1. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Jasper Davis and Cayden Ruby did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Ruby went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave Ruby a new career-high in hits (three). Joshian Tirado was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Port Charlotte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Port Charlotte pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Sarasota, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Sarasota's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. Sarasota has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Port Charlotte, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sarasota continue to outrun the ball?
