Volleyball Recap: Mclaurin Starts Season with Victory Against Raleigh

McLaurin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Raleigh Lions by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16.

McLaurin found their leader in freshman Memoree Hunter, who hit 90% for nine kills and 13 digs and 11 aces.

Raleigh's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, McLaurin will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Jefferson Davis County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Raleigh, they will head out to challenge Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
