Baseball Recap: South Summit's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

South Summit can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the North Summit Braves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-12 back in March.

Hayden Simons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Kaede Jacketta was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Theus Reed also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

South Summit's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for North Summit, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

North Summit will challenge American Leadership Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Summit will be paying especially close attention to the Braves' contest: after the Braves face off against the Eagles, they'll take on South Summit again at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
