Creede's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Fairchild, who went 6 for 14 en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Fairchild is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Charles Heinrich was another key player, going 6 of 11 to rack up 15 points.
Meanwhile, Moffat posted their biggest win since January 10th on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lake City with a sharp 62-41 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with Lake City: they've now won three in a row.
Moffat found their leader in sophomore Preston Heater, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Heater has scored at least a third of Moffat's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tulasi McBride, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.
Moffat was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.
Creede's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Moffat, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Creede has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Moffat struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Creede against Moffat when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 59-30 victory. Does Creede have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moffat turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
