Football Recap: Scottsburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Scottsburg dropped to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 34-14 to the Brownstown Central Braves. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Loss or not, Scottsburg got some senior leadership from Garrett Boling and Nathan Byrd. Boling picked up 107 receiving yards and two scores, while Byrd threw for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Boling is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Brownstown Central, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 58.4 points this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brownstown Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah J Sheffer, who threw for 105 yards and three TDs. That's the most passing yards J Sheffer has posted since back in August. Preston Garrison helped J Sheffer out on the ground, rushing for 116 yards.

Scottsburg and Brownstown Central are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors will square off against Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Scottsburg 11.3, the Mustangs 13) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Brownstown Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Tell City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Marksmen will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
