Even though the Xenia Buccaneers scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, the Fairborn Skyhawks still came out on top. Fairborn slipped by Xenia 66-65. The victory was familiar territory for Fairborn who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairborn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Townsend, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Townsend scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Taiyou Williams, who scored 16 points.
Fairborn's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Xenia, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairborn will take on Stebbins at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stebbins will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Xenia, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Piqua at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Piqua is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
