The Garrard County Golden Lions will face off against the East Jessamine Jaguars at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  contest.
Garrard County came up short against  Estill County on Saturday, falling  14-4. The Golden Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Emily Hounshell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Ava Whittaker also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Hounshell wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Garrard County  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when  East Jessamine challenged Anderson County on Thursday. East Jessamine took  a  12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anderson County. The Jaguars have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
  Kylee Oliver and  Alex Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Oliver  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Smith  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double. Oliver has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  home run the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hillary Stansbury, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run.
 Garrard County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for East Jessamine, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Monday's   match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Garrard County hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like East Jessamine struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
