Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Westminster Christian can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the Christian Liberty Chargers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

Westminster Christian let Brian Powers and Luke Bartolome run wild. Powers went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Bartolome went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Powers is becoming a predictor of Westminster Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Vaagen, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Westminster Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Christian Liberty, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Westminster Christian will welcome Aurora Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Christian Liberty will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' matchup: after the Warriors face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Christian Liberty again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
