Softball Recap: Klein Oak Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Klein Oak waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Klein Collins Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-4 back in February.

Klein Oak got a great performance from Riannah Boulanger as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Boulanger has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Izzy Lee was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisin Fowler, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Klein Oak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Klein Oak's record now sits at 19-6. As for Klein Collins, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Klein Oak is set to take on their familiar foe Tomball at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.8, the Cougars 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Klein Collins will face off against rival Tomball Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
