Despite the defeat, Carvers Bay saw an underclassman step up: Jaquan Hannah scored six points along with five rebounds.
Carvers Bay's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for St. James, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Scott's Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott's Branch is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for St. James, St. James and Sumter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
