The Sultana Sultans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Apple Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sultana in their matchups with Apple Valley: they've now lost four in a row.
Sultana lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Troy Marsteller, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marsteller has scored all season. Aiden Gregg was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Sultana's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-16. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Sultana will head out on the road to challenge Burroughs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Burroughs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Wednesday. As for Apple Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. Oak Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,113 points over their last 16 games.
