It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hillcrest Rams had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past James F. Byrnes 27-24. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hillcrest.
When it comes to explaining why James F. Byrnes lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tre Segarra. Despite the final result, he rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Segarra was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for James F. Byrnes, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 10-2.
Hillcrest is on the road again on Friday and play against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. J.L. Mann is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. James F. Byrnes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
