Frederica Academy took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brookwood 42-13. Frederica Academy hasn't had any issues with Brookwood recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
It was another big night for Stanton Beverly, who rushed for 171 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Braxton Sykes also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Frederica Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Meanwhile, Robert Toombs Christian Academy was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past St. Andrew's 41-8. That looming 41-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Crusaders yet this season.
Robert Toombs Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Drew Edwards, who rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 112 yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, Edwards is now averaging an impressive 100.3 rushing yards per game.
Robert Toombs Christian Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Brody Randall with two sacks.
The win got Robert Toombs Christian Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Frederica Academy, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Beverly and Edwards. Beverly just won't slow down this season and has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 101 passing yards per game. Edwards has been a dominant force too and has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 147.8 passing yards per game.
Frederica Academy strolled past Robert Toombs Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 18-0.
