Bishop Garrigan narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Belmond-Klemme 22-20. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Bishop Garrigan started the game off right with 22 first-half points. Belmond-Klemme wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 13 to make it 22-13 heading into the break. Bishop Garrigan almost let the matchup get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it. The win bumped their record up to 6-0. The loss dropped Belmond-Klemme's record to 5-1.
Next week Bishop Garrigan take on West Fork at 7:00 PM. West Fork took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Bishop Garrigan's good fortune. As for Belmond-Klemme, they will face off against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire.
